All Moved In

Hello! So we closed on the house and moved in mid September. Everything went really smooth during the closing as did the move. We are enjoying our beautiful new home. Trying to get settled as quickly as possible with 2 little kids. :)

Here are a few pics before we moved in that I didn't upload until now.
Walk through from Kitchen to Dinning rm. Pantry next to fridge. Love this area. The pantry was wire shelving that I had shown before. We removed these and added in wood shelving. It feels so much bigger and nothing falls down or through the wire anymore. Best DIY project yet!!!

Kitchen - We soon noticed that it was almost impossible to open up the cabinetry without pulls. This was the first thing we added. See pic below of finished kitchen.

Love the extra bar counter in morning room.

The ceiling height in the morning room is so nice. This has become our favorite place to sit and relax.

I can't tell you how much we love our hand-scraped wood floors. I was nervous they would be too dark but they have a lot of variation making them perfect. In a previous house we did dark oak floors with a high gloss finish. They looked nice the first day we moved in but that was it. They showed every foot print, dust speck, water drop, I could go on and on. But these floors don't do that at all. I couldn't be happier.

Living Room - This room needs paint bad!

One of the very first things we wanted to do was paint!

Here are the first rooms we have done. We caught a sale at William-Sherman. Thank goodness :)
Warm Gray in Living Room, Kitchen and Hallway. We even took this color all the way up to the loft area.
Nice Light Blue in Morning Room. Might even use it in the office.
A dramatic Dark Blue in the half bath.

Finally getting some rooms decorated

Kitchen

Cabinet Pulls - We noticed right away that we could barely open the cabinets. So this was one of the very first things we did. They are oil rubbed bronze to match the rest of the hardware throughout the house. We purchased them at Target. I think they make the cabinets look even better.

We got the table and chairs at World Market. We love them and it also has two leafs to add for the holidays. Can't wait to use them.

We got the saddle stools so we could push them all the way under and still have a good walk space around the table. We got these from Target and really love them. They match the floors perfectly.

Bar Stools - As everyone knows the kitchen is the heart of the home and everyone gathers here. We are going to get so much use out of these. I waned to go with something more comfortable so I went with a nice padded seat. We got these at Target too. I shop there a lot. :)

Morning Room - It's amazing how much window treatments can change a room. They just soften the room making it feel cozy. To get the dramatic feel we went with 95" length. I found these online at Wayfair. The rods are from Bed Bath and Beyond. Luckily we had all the furniture already.
Close up of window treatment. It brought in the gray from the Living area but also had the tan from the chairs. The light background is very close to the wall color. Then I pulled out more of the darker blue in the bar stools.

Landscaping

We did a seed lawn and 23 plantings. We did a pear tree on the right. Looking forward to the beautiful blossoms in the spring. All the plants are really nice can't wait for them to flourish.

I plan on updating this blog as we go. So check back soon! Kids rooms next.

Final Stage

This week carpet went in! You know what that means...almost moving day!
It was so nice to see the carpet down, it really warms up the place. I was ready to move in last night. It truly feels like home already. We can't wait. We are a little over a week away.

Got some more pictures for you!

Exterior:
Updates: Lighting, unpainted Door and Concrete Driveway / Walkway.
Interior/Downstairs:

Front Door sheds in tons of natural light. We love it!

Glass office doors. True divided 15 light!
Dinning Rm: Oil Rubbed Broze Lighting Package!
Half Bath: They have put up all the towel bars and toilet paper holders. They look so good!
Closer view of bath accessories
Kitchen: Oh yah! The counter tops and appliances are in too. They look even better than we thought!
Granite Counter Tops

Kitchen Island: Not sure I like the cut of the counter tops. I feel like it takes away elbow space. We'll see. I couldn't really do anything about that anyways, you get what you get. Going to do two saddle seat tools here.
Deep sinks! Our current RH doesn't have deep sinks (about 6"). Our current neighbor's are actually replacing theirs with a deep one. Glad we got these. However did you notice the lame facet? So disappointing that this is the standard. We had an option to upgrade but decided we would do this later, possibly a oil rubbed bronze one. :)
Microwave and Stove. They are so cool. The stove is a 5 burner.
Dishwasher: not too impressed with the inside quality, but the outside is pretty.
Pantry Shelving is in! I have more space then I know what to do with.
Not sure I mentioned it before but all the bottom cabinets have pull out drawers. So excited about that feature.

Morning Room - Nothing to update here. Just a beautiful room.
Living Room - Carpet is in!

Upstairs:

Upstairs Hallway - Carpet

Loft - Carpet

Another View
Master Bed Room - Carpet and no bath tub :)

Another view into the bath

In the bath looking out. It's a huge room!
Master Bath - Tub is in with faucet and towel bar. Only thing left in here is the glass shower surround.
Laundry Room - Utility Rack: Can't believe they did the whole wall. It will be good storage.
Guest Bedroom
Basement:

Carpet, a lot of carpet!

Not sure I have shown the unfinished storage area. It's also a good size. We are talking about building shelving on one wall to organize all storage boxes.

Nice big hot water tank

Basement full bath - Everything is done in here.
Next Steps: Put in refrigerator. Put in the glass surround in master bath shower. Paint the front door and other touch ups. Replace the broken windows. Swap out basement door for glass door that we picked out. Grade the lawn. And clean! Next post will be the move. We can't wait. :)
